Eastern Washington women’s basketball earned a Special Mention on the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association(WBCA) 2021-22 Academic Top-25 Team Honor Roll.

The WBCA Academic Top-25 Team Honor Roll recognizes NCAA Divisions I, II and III; NAIA, and junior/community college women’s basketball teams across the nation that carry the highest combined GPAs inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season.

This year, the WBCA recognized all programs with a minimum 3.0 GPA this season and the Eagles earned a 3.387 cumulative GPA. The Eagles are one of four Big Sky programs to earn honors from the WBCA for the season. Northern Colorado is 10th on the Academic Top-25, while Montana State and Portland State each earned Special Mentions.

Eastern continues to have academic success under head coach Joddie Gleason, as she moves into her second season leading the team. The Eagles placed nine student-athletes on the Winter All-Big Sky Academic Team.

The program has appeared on the WGCA Top-25 list 17 times, most recently in 2018 when they were 18th on the Honor Roll.
