NORMAN, Okla. — The Fighting Illini men’s golf program was recognized by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) for its success in the classroom when the organization announced its 2021-22 Outstanding Team Academic Awards on Monday (July 25).
The GCAA Outstanding Team Academic Awards honor programs across all collegiate levels – NCAA Divisions I, II and II; NAIA; and NJCAA Divisions I and II – that record a team grade-point average (GPA) of 3.0 or better. A total of 107 Division I programs were honored for this academic year.
The Illini also earned the added distinction of being one of 36 Division I programs to earn the 2021-22 Presidents Special Recognition for having a team GPA of 3.5 or better.
This marks the sixth consecutive year that the Illini have been recognized with the GCAA Outstanding Team Academic Award.
