Boren and Boren Summer STEM Scholarships
For: First-Years, Sophomores, Juniors
Funds up to $20,000 to studying abroad in a non-traditional location to learning a language crucial to national security. Boren Summer STEM provides up to $8,000 for a summer study abroad to learn a language critical to U.S. security. security (Azerbaijani, Bangla, Hindi, Indonesian, Korean, Punjabi, Swahili, Turkish, Urdu, Arabic, Persian, Chinese, Japanese, and Russian). U.S. citizenship required.

Critical Language Scholarship
For: All Class Levels
This summer program provides 8 to 10 weeks of fully-funded overseas language instruction and cultural immersion to study a language critical to U.S. national). Awardees are expected to continue their language study and apply it in their future professional careers. U.S. citizenship required.

DAAD Awards
For: All Class Levels
DAAD offers scholarships for study, internships, research in Germany ranging from 3-week summer courses to a full academic year. Focus is mainly on the German language, and German literary, cultural, politics, and economics. U.S. citizenship required.

Fulbright Teaching Assistant (ETA)
For: Graduate Level
Provides the opportunity to serve as an ETA to help teach the English language while serving as a U.S. cultural ambassador in one of more than 140 countries worldwide. The teaching level ranges by country, from kindergarten to the university level. The program currently awards approximately 2,000 grants annually in all fields of study. U.S. citizenship and university endorsement required.

Fulbright U.S. Student Program (Study Grant and Research Grant)
For: Graduate Level
Funds a post-graduate year of study, research, or English teaching assistantship in over 140 countries worldwide. Study grant requires admission to the selected graduate program. Research grant requires the student to propose independent research and secure affiliation in the host country. U.S. citizenship and University endorsement required.

U.S.-U.K. Fulbright Summer Institute
For: First-Years, Sophomores
Funds 3- to 4-week programs at universities across the United Kingdom. Each program has a particular focus. All programs are educational, cultural, and social, and encourage students to pursue leadership and informal ambassadorial roles. U.S. citizenship, 3.7 +GPA, and minimal international travel experience required.

Provides funding for study abroad in East or Southeast Asia for students demonstrating financial need.

Awards Pell Grant recipients up to $5,000 to defray costs for study abroad and intern abroad programs relevant to their course of study during the spring, summer, or fall. U.S. citizenship required.

Phi Kappa Phi Study Abroad Scholarship

Awards $1,000 grants to undergraduate students seeking to expand their academic work through a study abroad program. Requires a minimum 3.75 GPA.
