BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Patriot League announced 3,502 student-athletes have made the 2021-22 Academic Honor Roll, including 2,404 honorees on the Winter-Spring Academic Honor Roll.
Patriot League student-athletes are selected to the academic honor roll for achieving a 3.2 grade-point average (GPA) or better during the semester in which their League champion is crowned. This marks the fifth-consecutive academic year the League has topped 3,000 honor roll selections. The League previously had 1,098 student-athletes named to the fall academic honor roll.

The winter-spring academic honor roll is comprised of student-athletes from the 15 sports that conduct their League championship during the spring semester, including baseball, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s golf, men’s and women’s lacrosse, men’s and women’s swimming and diving, men’s and women’s tennis, men’s and women’s track & field, women’s rowing and softball. The fall academic honor roll encompasses student-athletes from men’s and women’s cross country, field hockey, football, men’s and women’s soccer and volleyball.
During the 2021-22 academic year, there were 1,985 women honored across 12 sports and 1,517 men recognized across 10 sports. The 342 women’s track and field student-athletes were the most overall honorees across all sports while women’s rowing recorded 294 honor roll members. Patriot League men’s track and field (275), men’s lacrosse (259), women’s swimming and diving (256), football (239), women’s lacrosse (226), women’s soccer (205), men’s swimming and diving (181) and women’s cross country (161) round out the top-10 honorees by sport.
Bucknell recorded a League-high 460 student-athletes on the academic honor roll, including 311 during the winter-spring season. Lehigh placed second with 384 academic honor roll selections while Lafayette (371) and Holy Cross (369) finished third and fourth, respectively. Boston University and Colgate (350) tied for fifth, with Loyola Maryland (322), Navy (319), American (215) and Army West Point (197) rounding out the League’s 10 full-member institutions.
Associate members Georgetown (87), Fordham (38), MIT (36) and Richmond (4) contributed to the League’s 3,500 honorees from the 2021-22 academic year.
