PHILADELPHIA – PhillySIDA announced today that Kenneth Raynor, a rower on the Temple men’s crew team was named to the 2022 Academic All-Area team for his contributions athletically and academically.

In order to be eligible for Academic All-Area honors, an athlete must be in at least his or her second year at the institution and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 or better.

Raynor, a mechanical engineering major, excelled in the classroom while rowing in the bow seat for the Varsity Eight boat. At the IRA National Championships earlier this month, Raynor led the crew to a fifth-place finish in the third final for a top-20 national ranking (17th). 

Raynor joins 10 other student-athletes on the Academic All-Area team, including Performer of the Year Dimitrije Ibrocic, John Karen and Roman Smigiel from Drexel; Penn lightweight rowers Julianna Langhorn and Thomas Russell; La Salle’s Trevor Fawcett and Jimmy McInerney; and Max Bernstein, John Carluccio and Noah Pingul from Saint Joseph’s.
