Hempstead, NY – The Hofstra volleyball program earned the 2022 USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award, it was announced today by the organization. 

Hofstra has remarkably now received the honor in nine consecutive years. The award, which was initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, honors collegiate volleyball teams that displayed excellence in the classroom during the school year by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade-point average on a 4.0 scale.

The Pride had a 3.42 GPA during the 2021-22 academic year and the team’s overall cumulative GPA matches the academic year at a 3.42. 

Hofstra won 15 matches in 2021 and advanced to the semifinals of the Colonial Athletic Association Championship.
