Prof. Dr. Hyunsook Lee earned her B.Sc. from Ewha Womans University (1986-1990) and M.Sc. from Seoul National University (1990-1992). She completed her Ph.D. at the University of Cambridge (1996-1999), focusing on cell cycle checkpoints and the breast cancer gene, Brca2, under the supervision of Prof. Ashok Venkitaraman.
Dr. Lee holds numerous prestigious positions, including Head of AI-Bio Research Center (since 2023) and co-founder of Next & Bio (acquired by Kolmar Holdings in 2022). She served as Dean for Research Affairs at Seoul National University and on advisory committees for STEPI and the Ministry of Education in Korea.
Her career includes roles as a Visiting Scientist at Harvard Medical School and the University of Washington, and she contributed significantly to institutions like Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology.
