Yaregal Tilahun holds a BSc in Agricultural Economics from Jimma University (2015), where he excelled with an A+ grade on his essay on input utilization for agricultural production. He later earned his MSc in Agricultural Economics from Haramaya University in 2018 with a thesis focused on market chain analysis of potatoes in Ethiopia. He started as an assistant lecturer at Mizan-Tepi University and became an assistant professor in Agricultural Economics in April 2022. Yaregal has consistently combined his academic pursuits with extensive research and community work, focusing on agricultural production and economics.

Yaregal’s career spans over a decade, starting as a lecturer at Mizan-Tepi University (2013-2022), where he focused on value chain analysis, climate change, and productivity. He transitioned to the American College of Technology (2022-2024) to continue his research and project management. Currently, Yaregal is a Research and Project Development Officer at Technobizia Product Industrial Development Enterprise, where he leads research initiatives and collaborates with various partners to secure MOUs. He has secured multiple research grants, mentored postgraduate students, and contributed to Ethiopia’s agricultural development through consulting and training.
