π Dr. Joseph Mbabazi’s educational journey reflects a steadfast pursuit of knowledge and expertise. Commencing with a foundation laid at Old Kampala S.S.S Uganda, where he earned his Advanced Certificate of Education, he embarked on a path of academic excellence. This led him to Kyambogo University, where he attained his Bachelor’s degree in Food Science & Processing Technology. Building upon this, he pursued a Master’s in Public Health Nutrition at Makerere University, deepening his understanding of nutrition and public health. He currently serves as the MAGNUS study field coordinator and PhD fellow in Paediatric nutrition at Makerere University in Kampala and the University of Copenhagen, Denmark. Prior to this, he contributed to academia as a part-time lecturer of Bachelor of Human Nutrition & Clinical Nutrition at Uganda Christian University. His commitment to practical application led him to roles such as Emergency Nutritionist at Concern Worldwide and Nutritionist/Research Assistant at Mwanamugimu Nutrition Unit. Dr. Mbabazi’s diverse experiences have enriched his expertise and dedication to improving public health. π

π¬ Dr. Joseph Mbabazi’s research focus centers on pediatric nutrition and child development, particularly among children affected by stunting in Uganda. Through a series of cross-sectional studies and randomized trials, he investigates correlates of early child development, micronutrient status, and the effects of milk protein supplementation on growth and body composition.
