🎓 Dr. Tarek Abdelaleem is a highly accomplished civil engineer with a stellar academic journey. He earned an Excellent Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering in 2012 from Assiut University, followed by a Master’s in Construction Engineering with an Excellent degree in February 2016. His Master’s thesis focused on the “Performance of RC Beams Strengthened with Different Prestressed FRP Sheets.” Dr. Abdelaleem continued his academic pursuit with a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering, completing it in October 2020 with an Excellent degree. His doctoral research delved into “New aspects about the effect of strengthening type and technique on the moment redistribution of RC continuous beams (Experimental and numerical study).” 🏗️📚

Beginning as a Demonstrator at the Civil Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering, Assiut University, from Oct 2012 to February 2016, he then progressed to an Assistant Lecturer until Oct 2020. Dr. Abdelaleem also contributed significantly as a Structural Design Engineer at the Engineering Consulting Office, Faculty of Engineering, Assiut University. Further expanding his expertise, he assumed a role as a Structural Design Engineer in the Office of Engineering Consulting and Soil Research under Prof. Dr. Mohamed M. M. Rashwan. His portfolio includes the design of numerous concrete and steel structures, showcasing his practical and academic proficiency. 🌐🔧

🔍 Dr. Tarek Abdelaleem’s research focus lies prominently in structural engineering, with a particular emphasis on the moment redistribution and flexural behavior of reinforced concrete (RC) continuous beams. His notable contributions include studies on strengthening techniques such as Near-Surface Mounted (NSM) FRP and steel bars, as well as hybrid CFRP/steel bars. Investigating critical regions reinforcement’s impact on strength and moment redistribution in RC beams, Dr. Abdelaleem also explores experimental repairs for NSM strengthening mechanisms with hybrid rebars. Additionally, his research extends to the effects of silica fume on lightweight reinforced concrete and the structural performance of continuous concrete slabs reinforced with hybrid BFRP/steel bars. 🏗️🔬
