Dr. Nazim Uzzaman has a robust academic background in medicine and public health. He completed his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at Rajshahi Medical College in Bangladesh in 2010. Following this, he pursued a Master of Public Health (MPH) at American International University–Bangladesh, graduating in 2017. Currently, Dr. Uzzaman is a PhD candidate at The University of Edinburgh, where he is focusing on applied respiratory health research, with his thesis already submitted. His academic journey reflects a commitment to advancing his knowledge in both clinical medicine and public health, particularly in the area of chronic respiratory diseases. This combination of clinical and public health education provides him with a unique perspective on respiratory health research, equipping him to address complex healthcare challenges. Dr. Nazim Uzzaman has extensive professional experience in both clinical and academic settings. He is currently a PhD student at The University of Edinburgh, where he is conducting research in respiratory applied health, focusing on chronic respiratory diseases such as asthma, COPD, and pulmonary rehabilitation. Dr. Uzzaman also serves as a part-time tutor for the Master of Family Medicine program and as a dissertation supervisor for the Master of Public Health program at the university. In addition, he is a Trial Manager for the Bangladesh site of a respiratory health project, where he oversees research operations. Previously, Dr. Uzzaman worked at icddr,b in Bangladesh, progressing from Clinical Fellow to Medical Officer, Clinical Trainer, and Training Physician, contributing to healthcare delivery and medical training. He has also worked as a General Practitioner at Green and Green Medical Services in Bangladesh, gaining hands-on experience in primary care and patient management.
