Research Focus

Prof. Dr. Amin H. Al-Khursan’s research primarily focuses on the optical and quantum mechanical properties of semiconductor quantum dots (QDs) and double quantum dots (DQDs). His work spans a wide spectrum, from investigating the fundamental characteristics of QDs like optical absorption, gain, and dispersion, to exploring advanced applications such as QD lasers, optical amplifiers, and nanolasers. A significant portion of his recent studies delves into the interactions between QDs and metal nanoparticles, particularly in achieving plasmonic effects and electromagnetically induced transparency. This interdisciplinary approach aims to enhance the tunability and efficiency of optoelectronic devices, making strides in nanotechnology and photonics research. 🌟
