Dr. Vaclav Kasicka, Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry of the Czech Academy of Sciences, Czech Republic
Publication Profile
Education 📚
Born in 1952 in Nymburk, Czech Republic, Václav Kašička pursued a career deeply rooted in chemistry and biochemistry. His academic journey commenced with a Master of Science degree in chemistry and physical chemistry from Charles University, Prague, spanning from 1972 to 1977. Subsequently, he earned his RNDr. (Rerum Naturalium Doctor) degree in chemistry and physical chemistry in 1979 from the same institution. His pursuit of academic excellence culminated with a CSc. (Candidatus Scientarium) degree, equivalent to a PhD, in chemistry and biochemistry from the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry, Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences, Prague, in 1985. His doctoral thesis focused on the analysis and preparation of peptides and proteins using isotachophoresis.
Awards and Recognition 🏆
Throughout his illustrious career, Dr. Kašička has been honored with prestigious awards that recognize his exceptional contributions to analytical chemistry and separation science. These include the Hanuš Memorial Medal from the Czech Chemical Society, the Prof. Andrzej Waksmundzki Medal for popularizing separation techniques, and the Karel Preis Award for the best paper in Chemické listy. Earlier accolades include the Young Scientist Award from the Czechoslovak Chemical Society and the Young Investigator Award at the World Exhibition of Young Investigators in Bulgaria.
